Math 300H: Foundations of Mathematics

Homework

Put your name at the top of each page.
Staple all sheets together. (get a stapler)
Include problem statement if reasonable.
You must typeset homework in LaTeX. See also. Two sides are OK (as long as it is not on tissue paper).
If homework is submitted electronically, then a .pdf created from LaTeX source is fine.
If you are not familiar with LaTeX, I recommend using overleaf; TAMU has an institutional license. I'll be providing LaTeX templates for most written assignments. These also contain LaTeX hints in the comments of the .tex files, and you can ask for help on Piazza. Note that you can use LaTeX to encode mathematical statements on Piazza.

For me, it is perfectly acceptable that you discuss homework with other students, as this will certainly enhance your learning. It is however, unacceptable that you collaborate on the writing up of your work, as writing it up and proofreading it is part of the process of understanding what you did.

Third Written Assignment Your third written assignment involves researching the mathematical constant π, and then writing a short essay/discussion about a small part of what you learned. I'd recommend starting with the Wikipedia article, and then follow up with some videos and other sources, as you research something that catches your attention. Above all, enjoy what you find out about π. The assignment is due Thursday 3 November 2022.
